January 2016 marks a major milestone for Tructyre as we celebrate our 20th anniversary.
What began as an idea sketched on a desk planner has grown into one of Europe's largest privately owned truck tyre service providers – by treating your fleet as if it were our own.

From the very first customers who believed in our vision, such as Commodore Transporters, Mainland Market Deliveries, LTS Freight, BKG Transport, Meachers Transport and Searoute Ferries through to our newest clients, it's both exciting and gratifying to be a part of the growing success of your business.

Tructyre are proud to announce that two members of staff Chris Westbrook and Andy Masham have made it through to the finalists of the NTDA REACT Roadside Technician of the Year award. There are in total 8 finalists competing for the title and our guys have a real chance of bringing home the prize
Tructyre as a company are also a finalists in the Staff Training and Development Initiative of the Year award. We are very pleased to have made the final for a second consecutive year, which recognises our commitment to the training of our people at all levels
Tructyre has once again been awarded accreditation from Safecontractor for its commitment to achieving excellence in health and safety.
Safecontractor is a leading third party accreditation scheme which recognises very high standards in
health and safety management amongst UK contractors. Safecontractor accreditation will enhance the company's ability to attract new contracts and its commitment to safety will be viewed positively by its insurers and existing customers.
Graham Simpson will be joining Tructyre shortly in the newly created role of Commercial Manager.
Graham’s career started in 1981 at Bandag Re-treads, the world’s largest franchised re-treader (part of the Ocean Cory group). He was based in the North West on van sales with key fleets. He moved to Best Way Tyres, when the franchise was sold, before moving to Bristol Re-treads in the South West, taking on a sales and general management role. Graham managed to turn Bristol Re-treads business around from making a loss to making a profit.
The business was then sold to Truck Tyre Specialists of Weston Super Mare in 1999. At TTS Graham was pinnacle in doubling the business’ turnover. He was promoted to Sales manager in 2002, which led to a directorship in 2010 where Graham was responsible for both the sales strategy of the business and the overall management of the company.
Graham with his industry knowledge and track record will without doubt bring added value to the Tructyre business.
In addition to this external appointment, Wayne Willavoys will take on the new role of Group Sales Manager. Reporting to Graham, Wayne will work with our BDM’s to ensure that we adopt a consistent approach to business development within our direct accounts.
A new organisational chart for the sales team to reflect these changes is shown below. Steve and Pat’s job titles have also changed to better reflect their respective roles within the new sales structure.

We are pleased to announce that following our recent assessment we have retained Investors In People Gold accreditation. Under the current framework, Gold is the highest award possible and Tructyre are proud to be the only tyre management company to achieve this level.
The Assessment Report noted the challenges in achieving this award, given the expansion of Tructyre in 2013 with the acquisition of Commercial Tyres, Commercial Tyres Off Highway and Autokwik Retail. John Brand, Group Operation Manager, says “I’m immensely proud that we have retained Gold accreditation. It was a difficult task to integrate the new companies into our processes and would have been impossible without the support and contribution of everyone. The Tructyre group now enjoys consistent working practices that we believe are essential to delivering performance, quality and safety for our valued customers.”
In August 2015 the new sixth generation framework is launched, and we’ll invest in the integrating the new developments/enhancements into our procedures and processes. We believe this demonstrates our commitment to continuous improvement through our people.

Tructyre Welcomes Tony Matthews
On 1st April, Tony Matthews joins us from Goodyear OTR division. He'll be joining our Commercial Tyres "Off Highway" Ltd business unit. Tony brings a wealth of knowledge in the specialist heavy plant market joining an already well-established team headed up by Steve Shingleton (General Manager) and Matt Baldwin (Operations manager).
Centrally Managed Fleet Admin
Tructyre have streamlined their fleet administration. Since February all calls from our regions customers, for service and fleet management, are now managed centrally. This has enabled a more uniformed service for all our customers, in speeding up process and managing breakdowns and calls for service.
The automatic tyre pressure monitoring product continues to gain momentum and a high number of fleets are lined up to roll out evaluation projects throughout the year.
Tructyre is delighted to announce that we have achieved certification to ISO 14001:2004 (the Environmental Management System) at our first attempt. The development and subsequent implementation of our Environmental Management System has enabled us to review all business and operational processes, with a robust approach to the way we carry out our services.

We feel that the investment involved in gaining such a certification is an essential and increasingly important attribute for our customers".
